i left the organization in 2017.. was in several congregations in the north west of england.
i just wanted to say thank you to all of you that have posted on here over the years, it really helped me to see the truth about the organization.
i lurked here for many years under an anonymous login and then finally plucked up the courage to write my disassociation letter.. adam.
I left them 6 ou 7 years ago. This place brought me a lot of help, in addition with Lloyd Evans. Both helped me to put word on what I was feeling for years and years : this whole thing was a trap !
Now I feel so good (I would say better and better) as I see this organisation sinking.
I was licky to be alone in this "spiritual family" so I lost so few...
i personally have only attended a handful of meetings at kingdom halls.
i did not enjoy any of them nor was i impressed by anything that was conveyed.

In the 80's, when I became a JW, there was something to learn about the bible, about christian doctrine. There was something to argue with catholics ou non believers.
40 years later, it's just "obey and be blessed". Nothing to learn, just repeating more and more what was told years before.
Just a loss of time and money to go there.

i’m trying to find an elder’s letter or wt article that frown upon a good standing jw allowing an unmarried couple to stay over their house for the night.. my wife claims this is a conscience matter and i say that’s bs, this leadership does not allow it.

In my former congregation, a brother was disfellowshipped because his son spent a night with his girlfriend at his home, in the same bed. He was convinced of complicity in an immoral act. So both father and son were disfellowshipped !
i've not heard anything from pimi wife about going back to the khs yet let alone the door to door work.. many churches round here have re-opened if only for private pray and i am guessing that things like singing may be a factor in the reluctance of the witnesses to get back together again.
i also detect that many older ones are still quite afraid to go anywhere they may come in contact with people, even for shopping.
on the other hand, here in uk you can now go to a football match with 70,000 others shouting and chanting.. the door to door work may a total different issue.
Keinlezard, I heard the same. Many JWs are so happy to meet only by Zoom and to stay home for preaching (in)activity ! The majority is getting more and more fanatic , just waiting the end comes tomorrow !
So everything's in order, fewer and fewer contact with "the world", even in the fied service.
I don't think they will re-open soon.

one good point for JWs ! You can't be a man and choise "I'm interessed in men" ! So everything is in order, but it was worth trying !
most people over the generations have taken pride in their heritage, nationality and country they are from.
it’s not uncommon to hear of “proud” italians and proud irish people , as an example.
are you proud of your country and your nationality or do you feel shame or indifference?.
I'm French, living in France but born from 4 grand-parents who left Poland in the early 30's to work in the coal mines. They were courageous, and I'm proud of them.
I love my country and the area I live in, but I won't say I'm proud of being French, or Polish or anything else.
What makes one's pride is the person you are, not the country where you are from.

i was told not to expect to get remarried because my divorce was not legal to watchtower.. my divorce and situation seem to be a talk of gossip and even a many local needs talks.
i wanted to take some more schooling to get a better job, there was a local needs talk on higher education and it's dangers.

back in the day, tons of witnesses were brought in the “back room “ to be counseled by elders because of their dress and grooming.
some elders frowned on mustaches or hair that went past a certain point on a male.
women were regularly harassed because their skirt was too long or too short or had a slit on the side.
I took part as a musician to a "new year concert", as you can see in Vienna each first of January.
An elder explained me that I was a support of the world of the Devil because celebrating the new year was an association with demons.
I tried to explained that it was the same that an "autumn concert" or un "summer concert", where nobody was "celebrating" autumn ou summer... It was just the "moment of new year"... He answered I would be disfellowship if I would participate again. It wasn't necessary... I left them all 3 days after and was never back again.
